Air Trails Hobbies for Boys, and
American Modeler did a very nice job of publishing articles on a wide variety
of modeling topics including cars, boats, rockets, and trains. Later magazines evidently
figured out that specializing in specific areas was more appealing to customers,
so the focus narrowed accordingly.
